SHA-256 fingerprints
Every document carries a unique fingerprint. Change one character and the check fails.
RSA-2048 signatures
Only the institution's private key can sign a record; the public key proves it.
Append-only audit log
Every write and every verification attempt is hash-chained, so history cannot be quietly rewritten.
